BLFSH Members Communication Pages
A challenge for the group:
The number of ferrets looking for homes had reduced because of closing the doors to new intakes, with the exceptions of extreme hardship cases or Animal Control/SPCA transfers, and several successful placements since April '08. We're still looking to place 20 ferrets (7 of which are "Special Needs"), and many that are approaching another anniversary with us.
The club membership is still the very best avenue for prospective adopters. By growing the club we in-turn grow our possible placements &/or develop additional foster homes. We're no longer advertising the shelter because historically that has brought in waves of surrenders instead of adoption requests. Thus the reason we need to concentrate on growing the club.
Listing Updates to Current Projects.
Please check out the notes in the Directors Corner section. While I probably won't be posting extremely important things there I would like to try to keep the notes current to the projects we are working on.

You may need to log-on. If so, email me and I'll send you the info.
Hi Y'all....
Behind the Scenes at the Shelter.
Notable News!
The Ohio kids still need to go to ferret knowledgeable owners. They are still very "special" kids, requiring care in handeling. Intergrading them with the "pet store" kids has been slow going as they still have confilcts and need to be supervised when playing with them. We took in 3 ferrets from Dr. F's program and they are playing very nicely with the McKids. The three are so similar it's still hard to tell who's who!
